Today we arrived at Rhodes, Greece. We worked out, had breakfast and headed out to town. This is the only place we saw dolphin on our trip. It was a very neat old town. It had lots of shops and a very neat castle where the Knights of St. John lived.
We had lunch at a Greek restaurant and then walked around the shops. When we got back to the ship, the Filipino crew were celebrating their independence day with some games. They were having a tug-o-war tournament between the different crews (engine, mechanical, housekeeping, etc.). We watched them for a little while and then we relaxed on the boat the rest of the day.

So was the statue the only dolphin you saw, or did you actually see some in the water?

You know the people that (at least used to) run the Lindos restaurant in Michigan City ….their family is there in Rhodes. We went and visited them and it is fantastic. We went to the acropolis at Lindos and saw the Bay of St Paul. Supposedly that’s where Paul landed or something…now I forget b/c it’s been so long ago. So interesting though, the antiquities and being where the apostles were. The view was breathtaking as well. Now I’ve just got to get to Israel some day. Plus you know that Rhodes is where one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World was….the Colossus of Rhodes supposedly stood over the harbor…love it.
