On the Dark Side of the Time Zone

Does anyone else think about things like this? While out trying to “nail down” some people to come to our anniversary church service, I noted how quickly the sky turns from light to dark. Of course, the sun had set already, but it seemed to be light “just fine” and then ten minutes later it was quite dark. And then I thought, as I often have, “It would be an hour later if we lived in the Eastern Time Zone.”

Could I get more things done if it was lighter later? I don’t know — I would still get up at the same time in the morning, and would still be as tired at the same time at night. But there would be some instances where I could do more of a particular activity, like visiting, if it was lighter later. So anyway, what side of the time zone do you live on? The dark (eastern) side or the light (western) side?

  1. My thoughts on time zones have mainly focused on the best time of the year to make evening visits, which, of course, are the longest days of the year. If you look at what you have written, you have mentioned time quite often. I feel the same way—more projects than time to accomplish, forcing me to evaluate my life related to what God wants me to do.
