Recently, I heard a preacher say, “If it works and the Bible teaches it…” Now, I’m a public speaker and I know how easy it is to say something that doesn’t express exactly what you believe. So, I’m not taking that particular preacher to task over this phrase. If he were able to edit his sermon, he may change that statement.
At the same time, the phrase caught my brain and I had to think…. What if the Bible taught it, but it didn’t “work”? What if what it did was different than the expected result. We must be committed to doing all that the Bible teaches, whether it works or not.
You Think Too Much! 
We don’t know what “works?” We’re not smart enough to know that, so we live by faith. Living by faith works.
