Psalm 26 – Thoughts From My Devotions

LORD, I have loved the habitation of thy house, and the place where thine honor dwelleth. Gather not my soul with sinners, nor my life with bloody men: In whose hands is mischief, and their right hand is full of bribes. But as for me, I will walk in mine integrity: redeem me, and be merciful unto me. My foot standeth in an even place: in the congregations will I bless the LORD. (Psalm 26:8-12)

Many people these days think they can be a good Christian and not be involved as a member of a church. A local church, one where they can actually be fed and serve the Lord. They think they can live all their life in the company of “sinners,” “bloody men,” mischievous men and bribers and then forsake the gathering of the saints. David loved the house of the Lord. It was a place where He was honored–where God’s honor dwelt. It was a place that gave confidence–an even place, a place where he could bless the Lord.
