Another day in Greece. We docked in a very small town and most of us just walked around the town. Some of the others rented a moped and rode around a little and Dan rented a bike and headed for Olympia. Annette and I wanted to go to Olympia, so we took the train. It was very cheap — 1 euro each way. It took about 45 minutes.
The Olympia area was beautiful and we visited the ancient site of the Olympics.
This is the “wrestling room.”
This is where the Olympic flame is lit every two years.
This is the marble finish line in the stadium.
Annette wasn’t ready for this picture, but she’s standing next to what’s left of a pillar of what was the temple of Zeus.
In the evening, we went to the Indonesian Crew show and it was pretty good.
Last I heard the train was 3-4 euros roundtrip, still one of the best deals in Greece! See a few more things to do in Katakolo
