Christian School Discipline

“A genuinely Christian handling of discipline is a costly thing; it cannot be achieved without the expenditure of precious hours. The brusque interview and the routine infliction of penalty may seem efficient, but except in very minor matters, they are usually sub-Christian. Patient understanding, the willingness to talk a situation out, above all, the time to pray about it — these are essential to the administration of discipline in Christian integrity. The result will sometimes be action of a drastic kind, but even then Christian love will do its restoring and healing work.” (The Pattern of God’s Truth, p. 93)
