Second Sea Day

Sunday, June 17, 2007 — Fathers’ Day

Annette woke up at 4:40 a.m. to the sound of creaking in our cabin, so she found her ear plugs and then slept good until about 7:45 a.m. We went to the Dining Room for breakfast this morning. While I finished preparing the message/challenge/lesson for our Sunday meeting, Annette painted her nails and ran around the ship taking pictures.

Our service was at 10:30 a.m. We sang a couple hymns and then I preached about love.

After that, I went to the culinary center for a Mediterranean food show and Annette went to the gift shop to look at rings and earrings. Annette was anxious to get  a new wedding ring. Her first one was lost while raking leaves, and her second one’s diamond has come out. And I’ve told her I’ve been looking for a replacement set. The prices do seem pretty good here on the ship.

We ate lunch at the Lido again and then relaxed out on the promenade with a book, sudoku, and the journal. Annette also took walks with whoever would come by. She walked with Kara and Jane. It is a beautiful day and the water is very blue.

This morning we had the front desk deliver our fathers’ day gift to my dad. It was chocolate covered blueberries and giant turtles from the Kandy Kottage in Merrillville.

Later Annette took another walk with Jennifer. After dinner, we hung out in our room. I drank coffee at dinner and was awake all night.
