Tour Leader Update – 2013

Dear Upcoming Tour Leaders,

As of today, the US State Department website has NOT issued a travel warning for travel to Israel. The US Embassy has only released standard precautions on the Embassy website pertaining to embassy officials. Groups that were already on the ground when the military operation began have remained in the country with only, in some cases, slight modifications to their schedules. As we work mainly with Netanya hotels for the first night of our touring, our groups are largely in place and going forth uninterrupted. Our groups do not go within the 40 mile rocket range or in places where there are local warnings of unrest. Despite the tension, the sites are full (even Bethlehem and Jericho), but some groups scheduled in the weeks to come have requested to postpone their tour. There are new talks of a Cease Fire taking place within the next 24 hours, which will hopefully relieve some of the tensions.

We want you to feel confident that if any tour is interrupted as a result of political turmoil that we are here to make sure that you and your travelers are taken care of 100%. While on the ground, if the itinerary is interrupted for any security reason, the hotels and suppliers of Israel generously work with us to find alternative hotels of similar or better class without any cancellation fees. If you are still in pre-tour preparation and after consultation with us, you feel that the dates must be postponed, all monies and deposits are always transfered to your new dates. In some cases, depending on the time of year you select for postponement dates, there me a slight increase in costs due to the new supplier’s Price List and, depending on the airline, a loss of airfare deposits. Individuals who have travel insurance are generally covered for these increased costs. Again, we work hard to keep these to a minimum and provided to you at our supplier’s cost, with no additional profit or markup to us.

If you have any specific questions for me about your tour, please do not hesitate to contact me personally. If you feel your group needs to be contacted by us for further clarity, please email us back and we’ll work with you one-on-one to prepare an update letter that we can send out to your group.

With kind regards,

Eitan Chamberlin, CEO @ Samson Tours, Inc.
